I am posting on behalf of my estimator, who has a lead time issue with the BOM:
“Can we get Cetec to make an exception where the material lead time doesn’t affect quotes? If I’m quoting less lead time than the material lead time, it will automatically revert to whatever the material lead time says, even if we have hundreds of sheets in stock. Then I accidentally send it to the customer, noticing and having to go back and delete the material lead time, recommitting the BOM, changing the lead time back, and resending a quote.”
He mocked up a fake quote to demonstrate the issue and gave me some screenshots:
Thank you very much for the clarity and the example provided.
I understand the scenario, and recognize an automatically populated lead time based on whatever the estimator is quoting would be useful. However, the estimator would be able to make this manual change without any additional development required.
I am happy to ask our development team if there is a way to shift this functionality, although this would require a quote from engineering. Would you like for me to approach them and communicate to you what they quote?
Could I schedule a screenshare with you? I did some testing and I wasn’t able to replicate. Whenever I changed the lead time on the BOM quote worksheet, it pulled it my quote.
I’d love to see if I have missed a step in your estimator’s process or if perhaps the estimator missed a step. Let me know if you’re interested and I can send you an email.
