New Receipts Locking All Bins

When we receive parts in, it is now locking all bins for that part number. What new setting do we need to change?

Following up - Has anyone at Cetec been able to take a look at this?

@kthomas

Hey Kylie,

This is expected behavior since you had the set receiving parts to pending config setting turned on. If you’re not applying a value in the qty accepted/rejected fields at point of receipt then the system is going to automatically lock those bins until an inspection has been completed.

If you’re inputting qty accepted & rejected values at point of receipt and you’re still running into this issue please let me know.

Thanks,

Cetec ERP Support

We now need to lock the bins manually when receiving in new inventory and it is closing out our incoming inspections due to turning the settings off. We cannot continue operating our business this way. I have a separate post about it locking bins when we complete/receive workorders. We need things to go back to the way they were before this update. These issues are causing a major disruption to the flow in our facility. The other chain mentioned that engineering would try to help.

@kthomas

I think we may have misunderstood your issue you reported initially here… you previously had the “set receiving parts to pending” config option turned ON, and this was good, as it would auto-lock that particular new bin at the time of receipt of a part (without any manual intervention). Do we have that correct?

Assuming that’s correct and good and the way the behavior previously worked, are you saying that now, after the most recent version update, with the “set receiving parts to pending” still turned ON, that when you receive a part, it locks that new bin automatically, but ALSO locks ALL other bin locations that exist for that part? If so, that sounds terrible and it’s possible that is a bug. Do you have an example of a part number that is happening on, so we can look at it and do some testing?

(Note: your other post re: internal workorder receipts auto-locking. We have already fixed that; it is just a matter of getting the fix deployed to your environment.)

Please let us know on the above questions. Thank you.

You are correct in all the statements above.

I turned on the pending setting again. We just received an item in and here is a URL to show it locked all the bins not just the new receipt.

@kthomas

Kylie, we have reproduced this issue and escalated to our engineering department immediately. We will let you know once a fix is ready and when to expect it to be deployed.

In the immediate short term, I would recommend turning the “set received parts to pending” OFF and manually lock new bins/receipts for incoming inspections. That said, we recognize how this is impacting you all and how urgent this is, and have escalated accordingly. We will keep you posted.

Thank you

Following up. Any updates?

@kthomas - this issue should be fixed now. If you want to turn the “set received parts to pending” config back on and give it a test to make sure it’s not locking all of your bins. Please let us know if you still see any issues!

Thank you
