Scheduling issues

@cetecerp25
We been having this same issue with scheduling for months and they had us change the start and end time multiple times and also the ordlinestatus multiple times.

can someone please get us working 100%

@Eduff ,

Apologies for the confusion. The config settings I sent over dictates the hours in which work can be scheduled, in this case a 9 hour window from 7am to 4pm and should work in conjunction with your capacity settings (depending on the need). In this scenario there is remaining capacity for this location, but it is being limited by this time frame window.

Are you wanting these locations to be scheduled outside of the 7-4 window?

@rcheremeh ,

Do you have an example you want me to look at or a question on setting/function? Let me know and I’ll be glad to help.

Thanks!

@rcheremeh @Eduff Sorry to hear about the frustration you’re having getting this set up. Scheduling is a complex topic, there are lots of diverging paths and many settings that might affect the way things are functioning.
While we do our best here on the forums to address questions as they arise, it may also be worth considering scheduling some one-on-one time with one of our consultants who can more directly answer your questions and work through this with you live to get it working the way you want. If you do want to set that up, let us know!
In either case the more specific and detailed you can be about your goal, the better we will be able to answer your questions and work towards a solution with you.
Thanks!

Please answer this question

Is there any way to Batch update Dates, All? I know you said go into each individual line and reschedule… but is there anyway to batch update? if the answer is no, then how do i utilize Batch update Dates, all in the gantt chart and also the Reschedule lines in the work order overview screen?

We did a one-on-one with Jeremy and we didn’t really get anything answered.
We have been asking questions on a daily basis and no one to seem to know what will make the schedule work. Please get us someone who knows how CETEC works. Cetec Production Training Session (2023-04-27 10:10 GMT-5) - Google Drive

Hello,
There is not currently a way to do batch scheduling. We are planning to include this in a future release, but don’t have an ETA at this time.

In Release 4.09 we moved to a new scheduling engine that supports many additional features surrounding scheduling modes. However, it doesn’t yet support the Batch Scheduling.

thank you.

So i’ve followed all the instructions for setting up the capacity and scheduling parameters… then i rescheduled everything backwards and now I have a empty spot on Thursday august 3rd and 17th. looking at the capacity calendar shows nothing out of the ordinary.

I’m not sure if i did something wrong, could you please double check my work?

Hi @Eduff ,

It looks like you have everything set up correctly. I pulled a backup on your instance and rescheduled backward order 154.1 lines 1-4 from Aug 4th. After each line was rescheduled I checked the gantt chart and can see scheduled work for Thursday the 3rd. It’s hard to say what changed here from when you scheduled, but from what I can see in the system now it looks correct. Let me know if you run into further issues on that.

I checked on August 17th to see why it doesn’t have anything scheduled - I can see the order 121.1-5 has a work start date of August 18th, and line 7 for order 121.1 finishes work at the Mill Protrax location on August 16th and picks up at a different ordline on the 17th, leaving Mill Protrax empty for that day. Was there another order you are expecting to see scheduled at Mill Protrax on the 17th?

thank you for looking into this. I don’t expect any specific on the 17th. I was viewing by location and noticed the 3rd and 17th were empty. Thank you for double checking.

Hi @Eduff and @rcheremeh

I saw this comment above:

Just wanted to make sure you guys received the follow up email from the consultant Jeremy you all spoke with. Evidently Jeremy left off the meeting with you all acknowleding there were a few open questions unanswered, but that he would follow up with an email documenting answers to those questions after doing some digging.

Wanted to make sure that email communication got to your team successfully, so copy/pasting that below:

Hi Roland,

Here is the recording for yesterday’s call and some follow up answers to the questions I was looking into.

Schedule Mode/ Parallel Work: I did some digging on this. By setting the Schedule Mode column to Split, the job location can be spread across (or split) by the # number of segments. So for example, let’s say there is a location operation that takes 1 hour, and for simplicity you have an ordline with capacity set at 60 mins with 4 segments in data maintenance table - when the job is scheduled it will show scheduled for 15 mins with 4 users. On the capacity calendar this number of users field corresponds to the segments column in the ordline data maint table.

Here’s an additional resource on this if it assists filling in any gaps, but let me know if you have any follow up questions on the above info. https://cetecerp.com/support/how-to/production-scheduling-setup.html

Add All Default Locations : This will function for the purpose you would like. Under Data Maintenance > OrdlineStatus, locations with a value greater than 0 in the Build Order column will populate on a labor plan when the Add All Default Locations button is clicked, and will list them in the labor plan in sequential order (1,2,3, etc.).

Lastly I was able to confirm there isn’t a means of pushing a temp bom worksheet from committed order to the permanent bom record. I reviewed this with the team internally and this is actually by design. We allow this on the quoting page as building at a bom is often done during the quoting phase, but we do not allow this once in production as many manufacturing do not want production user’s manipulating the permanent bom record. Moving forward, the best practice would be adjusting the permanent bom record (if needed) and then pushing that to the order.

Thank you,

All these information we got still doesn’t work.
Our schedule is telling us that no work can be done from Aug 11th - the 18th. This is something we address to Jeremy.

@rcheremeh

Probably this is because capacity is not defined for those days August 11-18. Can you check the capacity calendar and make sure capacity is there. Make sure also that “num users” is defined next to capacity on those days. Then, try re-scheduling a work order into those days.

Thanks

There is capacity in from now till 2024. Weekends and holidays do not Have capacity.
And we already tried to re-scheduling multiple line items and we have this same issue
