When looking at the side bar, you can see what orders have an active demand. Activity > Orders w/ Need: (part/1029)(part/2297)
Currently, it looks like there are no orders with the trans code Stock that require any more of these parts. There are only open orders with the trans code Build where the part in question is the top level assembly, which fulfill their own demand. Therefore they won’t show up as Quantity Demanded in the part record.
If you created a sales order that was for Stock or if this part was required as a component for a different order, then you would see the demand for the Part in the Part Record and MRP.
So where we should see the total Order QTY for these products.
Activity > Orders w/ Need does not show anything.
Sales> orders is showing details while I am looking for the total open order QTY.
@hadim — I think if you change the trans code on your Sales Order, this demand will be generated accordingly. If you have it set as you currently do I am understanding that it is being treated like a top-level assembly so demand is filled already.
Yes, we changed our system from “Make to order” to “Make to stock” to get total demand info and this switch is causing some troubles, including but not limited to
Creating stock jobs, additional data entry and opportunity for mistake
Serial number issue (most important problem), products in the job that is made for stock require serial number and also as Cetec is preventing shipping without serial number again is asking to assign serial number, our team is overwriting the serial numbers for sales order but not an easy task for high QTY order.
More complicated tracking process (components used) and impact on RMA process
Sales (in side bar) includes both jobs for stock and for sales order
All above could be prevented by adding a field to show total requested for parts with “Build” trans code.
