I’m pretty sure I’ve asked this before but I’d like to get a more robust answer.
The setup: We’re getting our schedule more established. We understand better how to use capacity, users, parallel segments, etc. but because we’ve made changes to the schedule all the old items are scheduled inadequately.
The question: In an effort to get everything scheduled adequately under the newest schedule parameters, how can we reschedule all those lines the most efficient way possible? I want to reschedule/update the thousand or so items on our schedule.
Have you tried the “Batch Update Dates” button on the Production Scheduling Gantt Chart (Production > Scheduling > Planning Gantt Chart)? You can use the checkbox to select any unlocked orders
A menu will pop up and allow you to select an option to apply to all of the orders you selected:
-Update Work Start to Equal the Scheduled Work Start Date
-Update Ship Date to Equal the Estimated Completion Date
-Update the Work Start Date and the Ship Date to Equal the Scheduled Work Start Date and the Estimated Completion Date, Respectively
Apologies, to clarify. We would like to reiterate what was communicated on a separate thread on this forum from your same question 14 days ago (on this forum topic).
Rescheduling your 1,000 work orders in one fell swoop is not something currently supported in Cetec ERP. Likely this functionality will become available in an upcoming release in 2023 or 2024.
In the meantime, we could do this for you programmatically “behind the scenes” with a quick script. If you are interested in this, please contact us at “sales@cetecerp.com” to request such a service from our engineers, we would be happy to help.
