Consume Inventory with serial number

How do you consume inventory parts with serial numbers? For example, I gave a part that has a serial number for Engineering run, how can I remove it from the inventory warehouse?

I’m not sure what you mean by an engineering run. If you could clarify that would be helpful. But here’s a good video on processing serials in orders. Order Processing - Serial Assemblies

Engineering run mean we are issuing/consuming parts from our inventory without creating work order. We want remove that qty. from the inventory warehouse. For the part number without serial, I could easily adjust it on the warehouse by deducting what we consume on actual shelf qty.

If you go to Parts > Lists > Bin Piece/Serial list you can find the serial and delete it from inventory.

Set a reason code and then it removes it.

Good morning,
I came to another issue after removing serial from the inventory. After changing the qty. to zero and setting the reason code there’s another option that came out. See attached photo.

What option are you referring too? The area? The type of piece? Did the serial not delete?

The drop down where area is. The serial didn’t delete but qty. on shelf change. Below is the example, I deleted 17 serial but pieces still show 29 and actual shelf 12.

Thank you for the clarification! That does seem incorrect. Are the serials still showing on the serials page? Or is that number just not changing? Could you give an example part number and give access to your system?

You do have access now. Part number EED001010-1 (Engineering warehouse).

What happens if you click delete again? It seems as if the serials aren’t deleted but it still removed them for inventory. Could you give me the exact steps you took to delete the serials the first time?
