once you put a part# in and you go to the left hand side and click BOM Data then Bom Overview, instead of it picking up “default cost” how can I make that “last price paid cost”.
is that possible?
have you had a chance to review my question?
Hello I sent this request 4 days ago with a follow up 2 days later and I haven’t head anything.
Am I doing something wrong?
I am afraid that if you read the LITE plan support terms you will find that there is no guarantee you will get an answer at all.
“Requests can be submitted to the community forum and may receive a response from another Cetec ERP user, partner, or forum moderator.
Recommended for small companies with non-critical use of Cetec ERP.”
I kind of think it sucks … But that is what I signed up for when I choose the LITE plan support.
However as far as I understand you are allowed to upgrade your support plan and downgrade your support plan.
So if you have a critical issue that you need solved you can upgrade one month and then downgrade again.
However, If I understand your question correct you want to use “last buy cost” on your parts.,
There is a setting under the ADMIN ->config settings->config Settings
there you search for cost_use_last_buy_cost.
Set that to 1 and it might be what you are looking for.
Hi
Thank you so very much for answering me, let me do that and see if that works.
Hummmm I just looked and it is already set to 1, any other suggestions?
Did you do a complete reload (ctrl+shift+R).
if that doeas not do it … I am out of ideas.
@angietesterman can you provide an example of a BOM/component where you’re not seeing the cost you’d expect to see? The default cost should be a calculated value which does take last purchase cost into consideration unless preceeded by another value. The full explanation of how the system tries to define default cost is shown here: Costing & Pricing
Hello,
example when you look at the link. This first item on the BOM is 873-953, you can see the cost record is .87/ea, but this entire year I have paid 1.10/ea.
https://harnessandcabledirectllc.cetecerp.com/part/1473/component_list
If you read through the Costing and Pricing link I sent before, the first thing the system looks at to try to find a “Default Cost” is defined pricing breaks for the part.
XYZ873-953 has a cost break defined at $0.87: Cetec ERP
Removing that break will cause the system to move to the next step in evaluating a cost there, which is “…the cost at which the part was last purchased (i.e. last buy cost)”. I’m not sure if that will take effect immediately, or if it will require an update of the cached costing data for that part. If you remove the cost break and then refresh that BOM Overview page, and see that the cost for that component hasn’t changed, you may need to click the recache button at the bottom of that part’s inventory page to force the system to recalculate that cost.
Hope that clears this up for you, have a great day!
ok completely understand.
back before I came and implemented this program they tried to do a large upload and they did NOT know what they were doing and I have had to correct a lot of things since I started.
now next question is: how do a do a massive clear on all of my parts in cost price breaks because I see that all my parts have them and it was not something I did so they had to have done something back in 2021.
Also at the end of the year I would like to change the standard cost to last price paid so that I can monitor by running a report next year my cost savings and where we paid more.
I only know enough to be dangerous here as I used Cetec at my previous job and know some of the capabilities I am trying to utilize more here for our company.
I appreciate your help.
Hi
Can anyone help me on my topic please.
If you want to do a blanket removal of all the cost breaks, we can do that quickly and easily. Please note that this won’t be a reversible decision, so make sure that you truly want it for all parts if you want to go this route.
If you’d prefer a little more precise control, our engineering team can write a script that will take a list of parts that your provide us, and only clear the breaks for those parts. That would proably be around 2-3hrs of billable time.
In either case we would also recommend that you consider adding a test environment to your subscription for the month, as that would give you a safe place to evaluate the results of these changes before committing to them in your production database. Let us know if you do want to do that.
Thanks!
so to be clear on the link I have given what I am looking for is when I look at this screen on cost record I want it to be last price paid
https://harnessandcabledirectllc.cetecerp.com/part/7450/component_list
If you can clear the cost record so it will default to last price paid, how much would you charge me to do that?
Also help me understand to do this please:
Also at the end of the year I would like to change the standard cost to last price paid so that I can monitor by running a report next year my cost savings and where we paid more.
If you have a specific list of parts you would like the price breaks to be cleared from you can provide us that spreadsheet and it would be around 2-3 hours bill at actual. If you would just like all pricing breaks dropped in your environment we can do that quite quickly but it is irreversible so keep that in mind. That is how much would be charged to make it use last price paid.
I am also not sure I understand your second question. You are wanting to run a report for your cost savings?
Thanks,
Cetec ERP Support
ok,
How much per hour? I want ALL the parts we have to be cleared of price breaks.
Yes I do want to run a report of cost saving’s, I worked at Buse Industries before and every year the last day of the year they changed the standard cost to the last price paid,
I appreciate you working with me.
If you are absolutely sure you don’t want any price breaks in the system we can just drop them all free of charge. This would clear any and all pricing breaks and none would be left. This is also not reversible. If you would like that done I can let engineering know.
For the report would you be specifically wanting to find the difference in purchase price? Or selling price?
Thanks,
Cetec ERP Support
Just to be clear, I want the price breaks to be all gone, but still need the part numbers active.
answer to the other: purchase price
Yes this would just remove price breaks not part numbers. Would you like engineering to do this for you?
We unfortunately do not have a report that will compare purchase price across years. You can use the PO Cost History report to look for past POs and the differences in prices. This is under Purchasing> POs> PO Cost History.
