When using “View By Location” on the Gantt chart, the tooltip (the text box that pops up when you hover over a work segment) contains a lot less information than the one on “View By Order”. At least for me, “View By Location” would be way more useful than “View By Order”, if only I could see the PRCPart I was trying to schedule. I can click on the order number to open the workorder and find out this information, but it would be way faster if that information was in the tooltip.
Its a small change, but it is the biggest thing that makes me not want to use the Gantt chart for our scheduling.
This is in Production > Scheduling > Planning Gantt Chart.
The first image below shows the chart in “View by Order” and the second image is in “View by Location”. The screenshot did not pickup my cursor, but in both images it is hovering over one of the bars in the chart. As you can see, the tooltip is much less detailed on the Location view.
We run a lot of custom orders, so when I do my planning, I normally think more about the PRCPart than I do the order number. On quite a few occasions, I have accidentally rescheduled the wrong order because the PRCPart is not shown anywhere in the Location view.
Update: I noticed today that the tooltips now match between the two views. I am not sure if you pushed an update to fix the issue or if it was a bug, but the tooltip under View by Location is much better now. Thanks!
