Part revisions on the pick list.

If the part number revsion on the BOM calls for rev. 2.0 why would a lot of rev. 1.0 show up as available to pick on the picking screen? See attached screen shot.

On the tempbom screen, [CetecURL]/otd/order/718/tempbom, there’s a rev required column. This is how you would tell the system that only that rev of that part is acceptable. Otherwise, any active rev of the same part would be available to pick from.

You can also set this on the permanent BOM record for the assembly, there should be a rev required column there in the ± Columns.

Hope that clears this up for you! Let us know if you have other questions about it.

Similarly, we have revision A of RAW22421 set as Obsolete and not current. The SUB22353 BOM calls for using the unset revision of RAW22421.

In the work order specific BOM, when picking parts, why are we allowed to pick the Obsolete revision without warning or flag? That seems counter to and defeats the purpose of setting a part revision as Obsolete and not current.

@Greg

I am currently looking into this to see if there is a way to set a warning up and I will get back to you ASAP with an update.

@Greg

That’s a good question. The Pick Parts shows inventory for all revisions for inventory you have available.

Typically, you will need a process to remove inventory of obsolete revisions as part of an ECO process. When you do update the revision, we recommend either locking the bins for those revisions or performing a warehouse transfer to an ‘obsolete’ warehouse in the system. That will prevent those revisions from showing on Pick Parts.

Please let us know if you are following this kind of process or doing something else.
