Parts not showing on MRP

Hi guys,

It was brought to my attention that a couple of items have not been showing up on the MRP in the last weeks or so. I was out of town for the first item and since it could always be a fluke, I waited, but now I have a second item and I cannot tell why it wouldn’t show up. Here are the specifics. I am having her hold off buying for a couple of days so you can investigate or help us understand.

Part No: WIREWEU-2207-5 It shows needing 2.75 ft under the waterfall. It is also needed in the next few weeks.
If you run “Standard” Mode, it will show up, but we use Lite Mode. It does not show up under Lite Mode and since it goes negative, it should.

I wasn’t able to find part WIREWEU-2207-5 in your system but I looked at WIRWES-1819-WHITE.

What I found was that there are actually enough parts for both orders but one of them was overpicked. Lite mode doesn’t take into account how the parts are picked or the dates as described here: What is the difference between 'lite' and 'standard' mode in the MRP module? Since there are enough parts for both orders lite mode isn’t showing that part.

Standard mode is still showing it because it takes into account where the parts are picked and dates.

Great! That explains it. I will talk to my purchasing department and see if we can do something in pulling when we pull extra wire that is causing this problem.
