Pquote from a work order

I can’t figure out how to get this feature to work. I’m not sure what the intent is either. Work order 730.3 requires material to be purchased then modified. I can’t figure out how to use this feature, “Create Pquote” while in a work order.

When I try to create a pquote that is attached to the work order I get this notification and can’t get past it.

Good Morning,

I’m checking out the ‘Create Pquote’ page on Order 730.1 here - Cetec ERP

The reason that you can’t place a PQuote for anything on the order is due to your tempbom’s on the workorders themselves being blank. When I go into the tempbom page for the workorder here - Cetec ERP the page is blank there aren’t any components or subassemblies here.

The result is also the same for your permanent revision on the inventory record for prcpart JSTA24034-N303-3201 - Cetec ERP

There are a couple ways that you can populate the component/subassembly data that you need on the tempbom to populate the options you need to purchase using the ‘Create PQuote’ feature:
Route #1:

  • You can update the inventory record’s permanent revisions page here - Cetec ERP … add the parts that are required for that BOM and hit the orange ‘Update’ button to post those changes into the system.
  • Once you’ve updated the permanent revision, head back into the tempbom for each ordline on the order in question (i.e. - Cetec ERP) and hit the orange ‘Replace Order Specific BOM’ button. This will pull the parts you just added to the permanent revision over to the temp bom on the order.
  • You can then go into the ‘Create PQuote’ feature on the order & purchase what parts you need.

Route #2:

  • Go into the tempbom for each workorder specifically (i.e. - Cetec ERP) and just add the components directly to the tempbom.
  • Hit the orange ‘Update Order Specific BOM’ button, navigate back into the sales order, and use the ‘Create PQuote’ option.

I’d strongly advise updating the permanent revision on the prcpart record here - Cetec ERP. Once the revision has been updated all orders going forward will have their tempbom’s populated with the parts you’ve designated to that revision. Currently, all orders you generated for that specific JST prcpart will have blank tempboms.

After updating the BOMs permanent revision, just go into the single order 730.1 & hit the ‘Replace Order Specific BOM’ button & you’ll be good to go there.
