Production Lead Time Flow Through

Is there a way to flow through the production lead time quoted to the production side of CETEC? I have been looking through the available columns and havn’t been able to find it. Am I missing something?

@Joe

Thanks for reaching out about this. Just to clarify you want the lead time from a quote to end up on the production order? Can you expand a bit more on what you want the functionality to be? If you have a example as well that would help as well.

Thanks,

That is correct, if possible I would also like it to show up on the customer order. The goal of flowing quoted lead times through to production is to help prioritize product production lines and shipping based on customer expectations.

@Joe

Thank you for the clarification. Do you have an example order? I want to see what your normal process is for quoting and orders to see how everything would flow through.

Thanks,

Order 227.1 for Escambia is a good example. The quote stated that we have an 8 week lead time on the products.

@Joe

We don’t have a way for lead time on the quote to transfer to the Production order. There are a few ways you can set your orders and quotes up to help show a production lead time.

  1. Set a total labor estimate on your permanent BOM. I’ll use your order as an example. For line 1 this is the BOM: Cetec ERP You would switch the labor to total labor estimate and set a total number of minutes. This is per part for how many you are going to build. If it takes 1 hour to build one of the parts then you would put 60 minutes which would then multiply by the qty which is 2 in this case.

  2. If you have a more consistent time that doesn’t change you can set the max and min order schedule. These configs are called ord_schedule_min_days_between_wip_and_promise and ord_schedule_max_days_between_wip_and_promise.

  3. For the amount of time you want your orders to be completed by you can set the work start date 8 weeks before your ship date so that way you know when the order needs to be completed. You can adjust this when you have different lead times.

Please let me know if you have more questions.
