Profit and Loss Report - Negative Numbers

Our accountant does not like that our profit and loss report is showing credit accounts with negative numbers. She would like everything to be a positive number unless there’s a reasoning for a number to stand out. Is there a way to change the way this data displays?

Good afternoon Sherri,
I will check on this for you and get back to you as soon as possible.

Sherri,
While there is a config setting to change the negative/positive appearance of the 400000 COGS section (“Accounting - Display COGS With Inverted Sign (positive numbers as negative and vice versa”), CETEC does not currently support a config setting changing the negative/positive appearance on the P&L of the 500000 Expense section…those balances will always appear as negative on the P&L. If you were to set “Accounting - Display COGS With Inverted Sign (positive numbers as negative and vice versa)” config setting to ‘0’, the DR expenses will appear as negative sign, same as in the 500000 section. If set to ‘1’, DR expenses will appear as positive sign, differing from the negative sign for DR in 500000 section. The ‘0’ setting in that config setting may at least lend a more consistent presentation of expense appearance on your P&L and be less confusing for the external accountant(s).
