Request: "import" Serial Numbers from excel - Wafer Map Serialization

Feature request:

Would it be possible to allow users to “import” "Serial numbers. Maybe a text, CSV or Excel file. Each line would be it’s own Serial number. You’d still have to check the uniqueness of the numbers imported but you’re doing that already.

There are many instances where the serial schemes provided by CETEC doesn’t allow us to automate the serialization we need. So we use excel to create the serial numbers…but when we have to manually add hundreds of SN’s into CETEC, it’s quite a chore…it would be nice to be able to “import” …

here’s an example of our serialization scheme for a wafer map…

Generally, we strongly encourage people to generate serials within Cetec ERP, and either transition to a supported serial scheme or look at adding support for an alternative serial scheme whenever possible. If that’s not a viable option for you all, then Engineering is willing to consider adding a serial upload feature for you all. Another “request”. Just confirming that this same requested functionality could occur at the “receiving” , (with serial) page? sometimes we received large quantity of serialized components and we’re hoping that we can “import” a formatted excel/CSV/txt file with serial numbers already…

Engineering is aware of this request and it’s already on the long term plan. That quote was specifically for the order serial screen not for the receiving page.
