I have a situation that we are trying to figure the best way to record the start/stop work.
We may have numerous orders with the same beginning functions, so the beginning stage in production might pick 4 or 5 different orders from different customers to start all at once. He starts work on all of the orders, then stops when he is done with all, but now the system records the time across all evenly making it look like it takes much longer for each one but they were actually all done simultaneously.
Any suggestions for a better way to do this, or is that pretty much how it’s intended to work?
Thanks for reaching out about this. The batch start and stop work function is supposed to split the time evenly and how this function is designed. The other option is to log the time individually if you need some of them to be less time than split evenly.
Apologies I had thought you were using the batch start stop function? That is what splits the work evenly across multiple orders. Did I misunderstand? What are you using for this?
Be sure this config is on allow batch work order segments which it looks like it is on in your environment. Then once you hit the start work button it will show a batch work segment.
