Since we are working with ingredients in recepies it would have been nice if we could have just set the percentage of the top quantity of the ingredient instead of having to calculate the amount for each ingredient and enter that into the BOM.
This would could work like the scrapfactor. But instead of using the quantity per top as bases for its calculation it would use the build quantity.
That way it would be easy to change the BOM if the %-age of the ingredient changes without having to make any calculations first.
If I could dream freely a really cool feature would be if the first ingredient that was entered would automatically get 100% as default and it would automatically deduct from that percentage if you entered a second one.
So If you entered a second ingredient that was 2% of the top quantity the first ingredient would automatically change to 98%.
I guess this would need some sort of config option to be able to use the percentage calculation instead… But that is ofcourse implementation details that engineering knows best.
Of course a simple total at the bottom would make sure you never entered more than 100 % and would probably be easier to implement.
I realize this is no small task but maybe it could inspire to greatness.
