Tax Group Issue

Hello,

The Tax Group within the Edit Address module of a Customer is not pushing to a quote correctly.

For example, customer 326 with Sales Tax (GST) (5.00%) is not appearing on Quote 14763. Instead Sales Tax (HST) (13%) is showing under Tax Group in the Quote header, which is non-editable.

Can you please look into this?

Thank you.

Good morning,

Is there any update on this?

Hey @cam.mason

Sorry about the lack of updates, we are looking at it with engineering currently. Thank you for bringing to our attention.

@cam.mason

We were unable to replicate it either in our test environment or yours, so it seems like it is a one off issue. Its possible it is due to the order of updating the tax group in relation to creating the order, but when I created a new quote for the same customer in your test environment it pulled the proper tax group.

You can change the tax group at the order stage as well. If you need the quote to say the correct tax group for a PDF, our engineers can go in and edit the database to show the proper tax group for that purpose.

If you want, can you create a new quote with that customer to determine if it is pulling correctly for it?

Thanks,

Thanks for the update. Will try again and let you know if the issue persists.

Good morning,

I tried cloning this Quote and the tax issue carried over. Can you please edit this one instance (Quote-14763) with the correct tax information related to the customer? i.e. 5%

Thanks in advance.

Hello, still waiting for help on this. Looks like when I create a new quote it will show at a 5% tax rate but then revert to 0%.

I really need this sorted as it is cause downstream issues.

Many thanks

@cam.mason I am going to claim this case and will spend time testing today. I will get back to you shortly with any follow up questions or findings.

@cam.mason

I was able to replicate your issue. Thank you so much for sending a good test case.

I sent a ticket to our engineers for review. I will let you know if this is a bug or if there is some type of issue with the ship-to/tax group/tax authorities, etc.

Great, thank you!

@cam.mason

We were able to identify the problem. It appears that in your LNAME table, in the Tax Group ID section, the HST Tax Group is set for your MN warehouse which is a tax rate at 13%: https://imperialtool.cetecerp.com/tablemaint/LNAME/edit

That level of tax structure is overiding all of tax authorities and groups… essentially it’s saying to charge 13% despite what anything else says.

Would you try unsetting that and seeing if that resolves your issue? Engineering and I believe that should fix the inconsistencies that you are experiencing.

That worked! Thanks very much for the help.

@cam.mason excellent. Thank you for letting us know Cam! Hope you have a wonderful week.
