wildcard search with "new version" of production order list not working

Hello,

  • We have a bonus field that is set up to be searchable called “Top Level Project Number”
  • In this instance, I populated it as “215.3-1 215.3-2”.
  • In the old version of the production order list, we were able to use wildcards, e.g. %215.3-1% and it would show up when I did a search in the production order list query
  • In the new version, it does not. It is looking for an exact match, so only shows up when I enter in “215.3-1 215.3-2”.

Can you please let me know if wildcard searching is something that we need to enable (e.g. I don’t see a setting to enable wildcards), or if it can be re-enabled for all bonus fields.

edit: actually, this is more of an exact-match vs partial match issue. It would be great to have this give results using a partial match. We don’t necessarily need to be able to use wildcards, but if that’s easier to turn on, then please do.

Thanks!

Hi @vikas

Thanks for the details. Based on your description, it sounds like this is likely a discrepancy between the old version and the new version of the production order list. In the old version, partial-match searching (or wildcard searching) worked for bonus fields, whereas the new version appears to be doing exact-match searches only.

I’ll forward this to engineering so they can review whether this is a bug or if it’s expected behavior in the new version.

Sounds good. Thanks for the quick response.

Hi @vikas

I wanted to let you know that we have a fix for this. It should take 7-10 days to merge and deploy. If you wouldn’t mind, please use the Old Version in the meantime as a temporary workaround. Once the fix is deployed, the New Version will work appropriately.
