Workflow State Assignments Not Saving on Quote Workflow Screen

Hi all,

We noticed something strange this morning—our “Workflow States and Possible Assignments Quote” screen appears to have reset. The users we previously assigned to various workflow states are no longer assigned. Because of this, our workflow defaults have changed to the drop-down lists.

When we try reassigning users, they don’t stay highlighted after clicking “Submit.” It’s like the selection doesn’t stick.

Is this still an issue or was this resolved? When I look at your workflow assignments they seem to be alright.

Good Morning. It still looks like something is wrong to me. For instance, the “Engineering Review” location previously only had Wayne Hooyman as an option but now it has 5 other users available. I tried updating on the workflow maintenance screen but it is not changing. Our estimator brought it up and was confused as we hadn’t touched any of the workflow settings recently.

@abeausoleil It looks like all of those workflow states can also be assigned to anyone with the Admin role… so that’s what you’re seeing. Any idea when the Admin role was added on those?

Oh yeah, the admin role is highlighted. I had a dark-mode browser extension messing with the color of the highlight and it was invisible. My bad!

I have no idea why Admin was highlighted for all of them, though. I haven’t changed these settings in quite some time. But I went ahead and removed it and it seems to be working as expected now. Much appreciated!

@abeausoleil looking at a backup of your environment from last Friday I can see that another change is that all Workflow states include the user that started / initiated the Quote workflow. So whomever it was that created the Quote will also be an option now and that wasn’t the case before.

Good morning. It appears they reset again this morning. For some reason, Admin was added to all the role options on the workflow maintenance screen. I can say for certain nobody did this over the weekend.

@abeausoleil after looking at this a little more closely we did find a change that was adding the Admin role for existing workflow configurations… There will be a fix for this going out next week some time and after that once you change your workflow assignment to remove Admin role then you won’t see it return.
